Bill passed away peacefully at the Avalon Hospital at the age of 71 years old, after visits from many friends and family. He attended Avalon Schools from kindergarten to graduation in 1963.

Bill’s father, William Boyd was an Avalon Policeman in the forties when his mother, Agnes "Toots" Brown met him. Bill was from old Catalina families, Agnes "Aggie" and Scotty Brown, Chester and Duke D’Arcy and Emma and Joe Dion.

Bill worked at Channel Airlines, seaplane service at Pebbly Beach after high school. He also worked at both quarries on the Island at various times, and construction when Hamilton Cove condos were being built.

Bill loved the Island and especially the hills. He enjoyed hunting and just driving around the Interior looking for whatever adventure might come his way. During some of his later years, he spent time helping others with addiction, he worked at 1st Step House, an addiction recovery center. He helped many people including some from the Island.

Bill had a good sense of humor and quick witted. He was funny to the end.

He leaves his lifelong friend, Allene Minuto along with their two sons, William Vincent Boyd III and his wife Mary of Avalon, and Terry Boyd and his significant other, Michelle Miquelez of Avalon. He had nine grandchildren. Along with 10 great-grandchildren. There may be other close relatives of Rabbit out there in the universe that we don’t know much about, but would like to share our condolences with.
