Southern California Edison has graciously donated $5,000 to Avalon High graduates pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. The STEM award recipients pictured each receive $1,000.

Co-Valedictorian Leia Moyse will attend UC San Diego to major in Mechanical Engineering. Ernesto Perez matriculates to CSULB for Civil Engineering, Celeste Lichtenhan to CSU Channel Islands for Marine Biology, Joseph Vickers to The College of Wooster for Biology / Environmental Science, and Dylan Norfleet to Northern Arizona University for Environmental Engineering.

A grateful Principal Angie Gonzalez accepts the check from Hilda Marella Delgado, who further excited the crowd when she announced that future awards could not only repeat, but grow, as Edison increases its commitment to the future of science, our kids, and our community.
