Catalina Island Women's Valentine Scramble Golf Tournament

The Catalina Island Women’s Golf Club held their annual Valentine Scramble Golf Tournament last Thursday. Wearing shades of pink and red and sporting valentine hearts on shirts and hats, the golfers enjoyed a morning of perfect golfing weather.

First place honors went to the team with Ellen Hodge, Alison Osinski, Judy Grear, and Phyllis Lorenzen. In second place was the team with Pat Hoefs, Val Schafer, Betty Tejeda and Marty Ashleigh. Elena Maria won the closest-to-hole contest, and Betty Tejeda won for the longest drive.

After the tournament, the participants had lunch at Maggie’s Blue Rose.

Women golfers who are island residents or visitors are welcome to join the Catalina Women's Golf Club. The group plays on Thursday mornings beginning at 8:45 A.M. Call Val (510-0128) or Marty (510-1809) for more information.
