Avalon's Kids Fishing Club ended their 4 week instructional series learning to fish off a boat. Capt. Charlie from Afishinado did an amazing job teaching the rules of the boat as well as explaining how fishing works off a boat.

Afishinado donated rods to use as well as the boat to take the club fishing. The club went outside the mouth of the harbor and dropped their line 300 ft to catch Sanddabs.  Every child caught 6-10 fish and were able to take them home for dinner.  All the kids agreed the boat was the most fun they have had fishing.

The Fishing Club would like to thank Afishinado’s for use of the Rods and Boat, Carlos Hernandez for being a caring, constant teacher,  and would like to thank Joe’s Rent-a-Boat for the donation of the bait throughout the 4 week series.

The City of Avalon and the Fishing Club hope to see more kids join them when they start up in the Spring.
