Foundation shoots for the stars at Oscar Night

The Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation will be returning to the red carpet on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, for its annual An Evening with Oscar fundraiser. The popular event is held in the world-famous Casino Ballroom and has become a highlight of the winter calendar on Catalina Island.

Catalina Island Museum To Present Exhibition by Internationally Renowned Artist Dale Chihuly

The Catalina Island Museum has reached a major milestone this week by announcing it will present an exhibition of works by internationally renowned artist Dale Chihuly. The exhibition, Chihuly at the Catalina Island Museum, will open on March 26, 2017 and run through December 11, 2017.

Polar Bear Swim and Plunge on New Year’s Day in Avalon

Nine swimmers braved the cold water the morning of New Years Day for the Polar Bear Swim. The event took place on New Year's Day and was hosted by the Catalina Swim Club and sponsored by the City of Avalon. Swimmers were greeted by water temperature of 58 degrees for their 1 - 1.5 mile swim and then treated to hot chocolate and other goodies after the swim.
