The second Annual Avalon Charity Home Tour took place last Saturday and was every bit the success as the first.  The event, now in its second year, raises funds for the Catalina Island Foundation and the many local service groups it supports.

Dozens of guests and local residents enjoyed a special look through four of the most beautiful properties in Avalon. The afternoon began at Overlook Hall where participants were treated to a tour of that classical building and its fascinating story. Thereafter, the guests were transported to three more spectacular homes: the historic Holly Hill House, a lovely duplex at Middle Terrace, and a dazzling new East Whittley home. All locations were manned by local volunteers and featured tastes from some of Avalon’s best restaurants.  Each property was carefully inspected and in the end participants raved about them all.

Following the tour, participants returned to Overlook Hall where there was a spirited bidding on an array of silent auction items and delightful desserts courtesy of Zest Catering and Ben’s Bakery. The tour participants left in high spirits, grateful to the Catalina Island Foundation and Overlook Hall for offering an inside peek on island life.   For those who missed it, make plans to attend the Third Avalon Home Tour next year!
