Journey Catalina Tours

Journey Catalina Tours feature private tours into the real Catalina in a 6 passenger open-air Jeep. Enjoy breathtaking views as you enter into a part of Catalina not often seen. Our knowledgeable and well-versed drivers will share with you Catalina’s History and Culture. Keep your eyes open for wildlife roaming free like Bison, foxes, and eagles to name a few.  Cruise the island like a local and leave the driving to us!

Buffalo Jeep Tour
This is our most popular tour. Spend 2 1/2 hours in the backcountry of Catalina. Keep your eyes open and you may see American Bison, Bald Eagles and the Catalina Island Fox roaming freely.

Your journey will begin on a scenic route and stop at the "Airport in the Sky.” From there you will continue to the windward side of the island for a view of Catalina’s rugged, unspoiled Pacific Shoreline (Little Harbor & Shark Harbor).  As you head back towards Avalon you will make your way to the Wildlife Studies and Eagle Aviary/Habitat.  Here you will meet Pimu (Bald Eagle) & Nee-Peech (Golden Eagle), Catalina’s ambassador eagles.

Two Harbors Jeep Tour
Enjoy a 3 1/2 hour journey through the backcountry of Catalina all the way to Two Harbors at the west end. Two Harbors is a rustic seaside village located at the isthmus of Catalina Island. The harbors are separated by the narrowest strip of land only a half mile wide.

A variety of breathtaking views will have you in awe of our magnificent Island. You’ll stop at the Wildlife Studies Eagle Aviary/Habitat and meet Pimu (Bald Eagle) & Nee-peech (Golden Eagle), Catalina’s eagle ambassadors, pass by the original stagecoach stop “Eagles Nest Lodge”. Learn about the Banning Brothers and the Civil War Barracks in Two Harbors. Keep an eye out for American Bison, Bald Eagles, and Catalina Foxes roaming wild.

Scenic Airport in the Sky Jeep Tour
Spend 1 1/2 hours enjoying the scenic route into Catalina Island’s backcountry and up to the historical Airport In The Sky.  The airport sits 1,600 feet above sea level, one of the highest points on Catalina Island.

The Airport In The Sky was commissioned by the Wrigley Family and officially opened in 1946. Two mountaintops were leveled and the remaining canyon filled in to create the 3,200-foot runway. Visit the DC-3 Restaurant and Gift Shop, famous for their buffalo burgers, delicious giant cookies, and detailed tiled map of Catalina Island.
