AVALON, Calif. – When the Avalon Lions Club was informed of the dilapidated condition of the porch entrance area of the KISL Avalon Community Radio Station the Lions Board voted to completely rebuild it as another Avalon Lions Club Community Service Project. When Christmas trees needed to be delivered to Avalon residents Avalon Lions were there to help out.

The Avalon Lions Club Members raise about $50,000.00 each year to give back to the people of Avalon and provide many hours of community service through projects and assistance for people in need.

Sometimes the good work done by this Club is noticeable as with these two  outdoor projects. Most of the time the Avalon Lions Club Community Service is not noticed as the Lions Club helps with scholarships, commuter books, eye care, hearing aids, emergency phone devices and other personal needs.

Should you know of a community  or personal need in Avalon, that the Lions Club could help with,  contact Burney Ramming 310-422-1406.

During this Christmas Season the Avalon Lion members are selling raffle tickets in the Post Office Arcade, from 11 am to 1 pm, to raise money for Christmas food baskets to be given to needy Avalon Residents. Please buy some tickets to support the Avalon Lions Club and the Avalon Community because by doing so you will be helping the Lions Club help people in Avalon. In addition you may win one of the great prizes in the raffle to be held on New Year's Eve Day at noon.
