Canon Captures Catalina 2008

"Canon Captures Catalina 2008" brought more than 400 Canon camera owners to Avalon. The annual event, hosted by Canon, is a way to thank their loyal customers. Six photographic workshops were held in various locations through out Avalon.
Motorcycle photography took over Wrigley Stage while swimsuit models posed on Step Beach. Students learned about on-location lighting and techniques while shooting early morning skylines, inside the historic Casino, along the water's edge and other scenic locations. Photographic law and technology classes were also held.
The event included roundtrip boat transportation, all workshops, lunch and a t-shirt. Assorted Sources

Pavilion Hotel

| Located steps from the beach, the new Pavilion Hotel, formerly the Pavilion Lodge is being completely renovated and remodeled for reopening June 2010. Amenities will be upgraded in all rooms and the hotel will offer two luxury suites with splendid ocean views. The upscale design will take advantage of the garden courtyard area by creating private lanais for ground level rooms. Plans include additions such as a garden sitting area with fire pit, two new lounges, internet café and a wine and cheese bar.
