Avalon Remembered
This great Kodachrome home movie was filmed in the 1950s by Catalina Island Museum volunteer and supporter Al Gordon. Al graciously offered the footage to the museum and he worked with volunteer Dean Hill to edit it to create this nostalgic look at 1950s Avalon. Highlights are rare scenes of the diving bell in action and underwater, Davey Jones' Locker at Lover's Cove, the S.S. Catalina and seaplanes. Approximately 10 minutes in length. Background music provided by the Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra and organist Robert D. Salisbury on the Avalon Theatre Page Organ. CD's for both artists are available at the Museum: 310-510-2414 ext 1#. Video © Catalina Island Museum
